How to apply?
Follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Download the application form and application checklist
STEP 2: Complete all required sections of the application form. It is very important that you provide your Personal Statement as requested in the application form. This may be provided on a separate sheet.
STEP 3: Attach copies of your academic certificates and transcripts (where available) from High School onwards. If you are applying for an undergraduate course, you will need to provide ONE reference letter. For a Postgraduate application, please provide TWO references.
STEP 4: Sign and date the application form
STEP 5: Send your application and supporting documents by email on contactus@uomenterprise.ac.mu
STEP 6: If you are selected for the programme, you will receive a letter of offer.
STEP 7: Once you notify us of your acceptance, we will apply for your Student Visa to enter Mauritius after a first payment of the course fee is received.
NOTE: International students are not required to pay the application fee of Rs 1,000
VISA PROCEDURES
Upon reception of payment, the administration team will proceed with the student’s visa application.
A checklist of the documents required will be provided to future students by email when sending your letter of offer:
- Two recent passport size photographs
- Copy of the data pages of the passport of the applicant
- Acceptance letter signed by the student, specifying the detail of the course enrolled for (Please provide original letter)
- Sponsor letter from parent/sponsor stating that they will be financially responsible for the applicant during his/her stay in Mauritius as student (Please provide original letter)
- Evidence of funds to meet costs of training from applicant’s sponsor to prove that the applicant has access to sufficient funds to cover all the expenses associated with his/her training (Please provide original documents)
- In case of a minor, a letter of consent from the responsible parties/guardian to be produced
All requested documents must be sent by both email and by post to:

The above documents are required by the Passport and Immigration Office (PIO) in Mauritius and we will submit those along with the following documents to the PIO, Port Louis, for the issue of your visa:
- Receipt for the payment of tuition fees
- Original letter of admission from the Institution
IMPORTANT:
A medical certificate certifying that the applicant is not suffering from any contagious or infectious disease is required by the PIO. A test for HIV, Hepatitis B and a chest X ray should be done at any private medical laboratory/clinic/hospital in Mauritius and the tests results and Chest X ray report should be submitted to the PIO not later than one month after arrival.
We strongly recommend that students visit their local doctor and have a medical check for the above conditions before coming to Mauritius.
The provisional entry permit will be cancelled and students will be required to leave Mauritius within two (2) weeks if found to have infringed any of the above conditions whilst they are in Mauritius.
STEP 1
The PIO will notify UCLan/UOM Enterprise of the visa status by sending an “Entry Permit to Mauritius” form for a period of 3 months for the respective student, provided the application is successful.
STEP 2
Student will be granted a provisional student visa for a period of 3 months if she/he meets the following requirements:
- Student is in possession of a valid travel document
- Student holds a valid return passage ticket to travel back to his/her country of origin or residence and
- Student has adequate funds to meet the cost of his/her stay
STEP 3
Once UCLan/UOM Enterprise receive the Entry Permit, a scan copy of the document will be sent to the student by email.
STEP 4
Once student is in Mauritius, he/she will receive the original entry visa.
The duration of the visa will be for a minimum of one year, and is renewable every year, provided the student meets all above mentioned criteria and is still registered with UCLan/UOM Enterprise the following year.
ACCOMMODATION AND AIRPORT PICK UP
ACCOMMODATION
UCLan/UOM Enterprise has dedicated landlords who provide a range of private accommodation for students in Mauritius at very reasonable prices.
A student visa cannot be processed without accommodation having been secured. We will provide students with the list of accommodations available, together with the price list and photos so that students may choose the preferred one.
These facilities are situated in the surrounding areas of the University (Ebene, Quatre Bornes and Rose-Hill). Students may also share an apartment/house with other students. We will provide them assistance in their negotiations with the landlord and with the lease agreement.
AIRPORT PICK-UP
UCLan/UOM Enterprise can arrange for pick up from the airport to ensure students arrive at their accommodation safely.
Students are requested to inform us, by email, at least five days prior to coming to Mauritius, of their flight details so that we can arrange for pick-up. Failure to do so may result in delay for the pick-up.

LIVING IN MAURITIUS
Mauritius is an island situated in the middle of the Indian Ocean, about 2,400 km off the East coast of Africa. It is surrounded by more than 150 kilometers (93 miles) of white sandy beaches and the lagoons are protected from the open sea by the world’s third largest coral reef, which surrounds the island.
The country is multi-ethnic and multicultural with a population estimate of 1.2 million.
The government system is closely modeled on the British Westminster parliamentary system. Mauritius is highly ranked for democracy and for economic and political freedom.
The capital is Port Louis.
Mauritius has a tropical climate with two seasons. Summer is from November to April, whilst winter is from May to October. In summer the temperature varies between 20ºC and 33ºC. Winter temperature ranges from 15ºC to 25ºC. In general the weather is very comfortable and pleasant. However, Mauritius is sometimes visited by tropical cyclones during the peak summer time.
English is the official language of Mauritius. However, most Mauritians are multilingual with English, French Creole and Asian languages used.
Sugar, tourism, textiles, and financial sector form the four pillars of the Mauritian economy. Recently, the Government has invested massively in the ICT sector, with the creation of a Cyber city, which will be another pillar of the economy. Every year there are 900,000 tourists visiting Mauritius for its beautiful beaches, warm weather, excellent hotels, safe resort, and courteous people, among other attractions.
The currency used in Mauritius is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR/Rs). Well known currencies such as US dollars ($), Euro (€) and Pound Sterling (£) in cash or travelers cheques can be exchanged on the island. Major credit cards such as Diners Club, Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted. ATM facilities can be found across the island.
Buses are the most popular medium of transport to go around the island. Students will benefit from free bus transport to and from the University which is situated in the center of the island, Ebene. The free bus fare programme is a governmental aid to both local and international students studying on full-time mode in Mauritius. Students will be given their Bus Pass by UCLan – UOM Enterprise which they should bring along with them whenever they are traveling by bus to benefit from free bus fare. Buses normally operate from 05.30 hrs to 20.00 hrs. Students can also rent cars, motorcycles and bicycles from local operators. Taxi service is also available but is expensive for frequent traveling.
Mauritius has a very good communication infrastructure, providing the latest technologies to enable efficient exchange with the rest of the world. SIM cards are available almost everywhere in Mauritius and the main operators are Orange, Emtel and MTML for post pay and pre-paid packages. The cost of SIM cards cost approximately £4. Internet access is available in almost every home through telephone line. For faster internet access, ADSL technology can be obtained from local providers. Roaming contracts also exist with operators of various countries. Postal services are efficient. International channels are available on TV and newspapers are published in French, English and Chinese.
Mauritius has a magnificent diversity of cuisines to offer. The most common varieties are Creole, Indian, European and Chinese, with seafood almost always the speciality.
There is an excellent variety of music programmes on many radio channels, 24 hours a day, to satisfy all tastes. Popular singers from abroad often come to Mauritius to give a live performance.
